The Reapers came into this game with heavy hearts as they just heard the sudden passing of Anita Sanderson. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Will along with his family and her friends.
Anita was a longtime fan and dedicated supporter to the Reapers. She attended games regularly to cheer on Will and the Reapers. Institutionalizing the use of her horn, she made her presence and support known at all games she attended. In 2007 Anita was recognized as the Fan of the Year.
To say the least Anita will be deeply missed by all those who knew her and her distinctive presence at games will never be replaced.
The Reapers knew that they were in tough as it was their first game in Divison 5. At half time the score was 2-0 for the Monsters, but they dug deep in the second half as they exploded for 3 goals in span of 3:30 minutes for a 3-2 lead. It looked like it was going to be all for not as the Reapers ended up on a 5-3 penalty kill with minutes left in the game. It was probably the clubs best game endings in history as they held the fort on the 5-3 for a 3-2 win.
