(Monday May 9) The Reapers continued their undefeated streak to 7 games as they beat the Silver Kings 4-2. The streak is now in 2nd place in Reaper franchise history. (Longest is 12 games April 25 – June 15 2007) The game was a penalty called affair, with 54 minutes in penalties were called in the game. (26 min for the Silver Kings and 28 min for the Reapers). The Reapers were already in 1st place in the division with 84 penalty minutes going into last game and after the last game the club now has 112 penalty minutes.
The Sliver kings got out to the fast start by scoring 1:28 into the game and then scored again at the 6:07 mark making the score 2-0. That is when the Reapers finally woke up and started playing by scoring 3 power play goals. Leading the way was Matt Dillon who had 3 points on the night (1 goal, 2 assists). Jon was a catalyst on the grind all night.
Kyle Sagan scored the franchise leading 17 game winning goal, also scoring the franchise leading 28th power play goal in this game.
It has been reported to Reaper brass, that there was some some fans poking fun at a few Reapers on the night. The fans made signs that read "Vancouver has the Sedin brothers, the Reapers have the Volney sisters."
When GM Tarksis was asked about the signs, he stated "I can't confirm on who wrote the signs."
Early reports are that the fans were wearing luchador masks,.
