Reapers Win in 2011 Season Opener
(Sunday April 10) – The Reapers opened the 2011 season with a 5-3 win over the Maroons. They exploded out of the gate with Matt Dillon scoring 1:10 into the game.
Will Sanderson and Jerrad Sagan both had 2 goals on the night. Matt Dillon, Ryan Tarksis and Jon Ayon all had 2 points in the game. Jon was a catalyst on the grind all night. Playing in his first game between the pipes as a Reaper in the summer season was Danny Volney.
The non-highlight of the night was Matt Dillon undressing 3 Maroon players, who then dished the ball off to his line mate Ryan Tarksis for a nice empty net goal, but missed the net from 10 feet out.
“Scoring on an empty net is highly overrated these days.” Ryan Tarksis was quoted.
